Cycling: After the terrible weekend from a cycling point of view with the Training accident at Giant-Alpecin and the bad crash by Adriano Malroi there is first positive news. As the Italian team reports, Malori is still in an artificial coma, but is showing a positive healing process.
Malori is currently still being treated in the San Luis clinic – as soon as his condition allows, they want to transfer him first to a special clinic in Buenos Aires and then to his home country. The 27-year-old got caught in a crack in the road with his front wheel at speeds of over 60 km/h on Friday and hit the asphalt head first with full force. The clinic decided to place Malori in an induced coma as a precautionary measure.
"It's still early days but I'm happy with the development, it's looking good. He's doing better than I expected - I'm happy." team doctor Jesus Hoyos is quoted as saying in a Movistar press release. Although Malori is still in the intensive care unit, he is in a stable and not worrying condition and is already reacting to external influences and can communicate with handshakes and eye movements. Ex-pro David Facciano, a very good family friend, is currently staying with the Movistar pro.
We keep our fingers crossed that the positive trend continues!
