cycling: Critérium International with three German teams

January 28, 2016 by the editorial team

Cycling: Today the ASO announced the participating teams for the two-day Critérium International race taking place in Corsica at the end of March. Pleasing from a German point of view: With Giant-Alpecin, Bora-Argon18 and Team Stölting Service Group, three German teams are at the start. Nevertheless, the increasingly declining standing of the former top race is also becoming clear: only five teams from the WorldTour will start on March 26th.

As in the previous year, the start will again take place in Porto-Vecchio - further details of the route are not yet known. After all, the ASO published the list of participating teams today. Fortunately, all three German professional teams will be at the start with Giant-Alpecin, Bora-Argon18 and Stölting Service Group. The fact that there are only five names from the WorldTour in the list of 16 starting teams is quite surprising, even if the race has already lost the importance of days gone by in recent years.
