MTB cycling: The young and spectacular mountain bike discipline Eliminator Sprint comes to Bodenmais as part of the German Championship on June 11th. The title fights will be held on a city course prepared with terrain inserts. In addition to mountain bike specialists, seven-time Biathlon World Cup winner Miriam Gössner will also be in the starting field.
For the spectators, the city circuit promises a racing atmosphere and excitement up close – and pure adrenaline for the starters! Although the community with 3000 inhabitants is located in the middle of the Bavarian Forest not far from the large Arber, those responsible made a conscious decision to hold the title fights in the city. The spectacular racing format with elimination mode is still relatively young, but is extremely popular. The city course with off-road sections will also include a climb - so the calves of the participants will burn!
The qualification runs will begin in the early afternoon, and the final runs with the best 32 drivers will follow in the evening. David Horvath from Reutlingen and Nadine Rieder from Sonthofen will of course do everything they can to defend their titles. One can also be curious about the performance of Miriam Gössner, who, in contrast to the MTB specialists, only uses the mountain bike as a training tool in everyday life.

But it's not just the pros who are hitting the ropes in Bodenmais on June 11th! A race for everyone and a kids' race are also on the program, as is a 2×4 hour marathon on 100 Tomahawk IC7 spinning bikes. The colorful event is rounded off with an entertaining supporting program and a concluding open-air after-race party.
With the holding of the German Championship in the Eliminator Sprint, the topic of mountain biking should be further focused in the region. The Sprint DM is to be followed by further MTB events. The organizers wish to bring a larger event to Bodenmais or neighboring communities such as Bischofsmais every year. Those responsible have recognized that only an attractive environment will attract mountain bike vacationers to the region in the long term. A funding topic in the MTB sector is therefore the Trans-Bayernwald route system, which is currently being developed.
