MTB cycling: Spectators were treated to thrilling cycling at the premiere of the Neuseen MTB Trophy yesterday, Sunday. More than 250 mountain bikers fought for good positions over various distances at Lake Schladitz. In the end, Robert Förster (Grupetto Racing Team) and Jessica Lambracht (Grupetto Racing Team 2) won the long 45-kilometer race.
The races around the Schladitzer See were held on a 15-kilometer lap. The participants had three distances to choose from: 15, 30 and 45 kilometers. The CAMP DAVID Sport Resort by ALL on SEA marked the start and finish of the neuseen MTB Trophy. Top athletes also signed up for the long-distance race and, as expected, dominated yesterday's race.
The men's race was extremely exciting until the end, but in the gripping sprint duel, neuseen classics winner Robert Förster was able to assert himself just ahead of his teammate Max Walsleben. Tino Thömel from the RTS SANTIC Racing Team finished third, more than three seconds behind the leaders.
Unsurprisingly, Jessica Lambracht, who was second in the women's cross-country event, won with a lead of more than four seconds in front of Kerstin Kuhnlein (RVC Trieb / Sirius-Sporthaus). Third place went to Antje Fiebig (Smash Germany). On the shorter 30 kilometer distance, the winners were Martin Hümpert and Katja Leuteritz, while Marco Eckert and Leila Künzel won the beginners' round.
