Bicycle component giant Shimano delivers a harmonious combination of drive and gears. The electronically controlled 8-speed hub delivers really smooth gear changes thanks to shift recognition. The Hercules rolls very smoothly, and even with the drive switched off you almost feel like you're on a "normal" bike. The powerful motor provides support over a wide pedaling frequency range, always pushes immediately and also regulates gently. Thanks to the upright posture, curved handlebars and Ergon grips, you sit very comfortably on the Edison. However, the spring saddle support only works if you sit all the way forward on the tip of the saddle; in a normal sitting position, it cants. In addition to the hydraulic brakes, there's a back pedal.
