Editor's tip: Now it's getting serious! Today the first stage with five stars is imminent and takes the riders into the heart of the Dolomites. It follows the route of the Gran Fondos Maratona dles Dolomites. Six categorized climbs with more than 5.500 meters in altitude over 210km - it was an extremely tough day for every single driver in the field. The Passo Pordoi is part of the route for the first time in eight years, and is at the end of a 80 km steadily rising passage - but then another five Dolomite passes and thousands of meters of altitude await. The favorites have to perform here today and those who catch a bad day could have to bury their dream of winning the Giro early on.
