Lifestyle: From June 9th to 12th, Saalfelden Leogang in Salzburger Land will once again be all about spectacular mountain bike action. The Out of Bounds Festival will once again spoil mountain bike fans from near and far with a turbulent supporting programme. As in previous years, the two highlights of the event are the 26TRIX and the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup.
Already on Thursday, the opening day of the Out of Bounds Festival, fans can take a first look at the jumps during training and pre-qualifying for the 26TRIX, which will be part of the mandatory program for pro riders on Saturday. Casual partying is the order of the day on Thursday evening from around 20.00 p.m. at the Warm Up Party. The official downhill training starts at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning. At 16.30:26 p.m. things get serious for the slopestylers in qualifying XNUMXTRIX. If you want to get active yourself, you can do so on Friday evening by taking part in the Pumptrack Contest.
Tricks and airtime are the order of the day at the FMB Gold Event 26TRIX on Saturday. The legendary slopestyle contest attracts top riders from all over the world, who often pull their very latest trick out of their sleeve for the first time in public in Leogang. So the spectators can be curious to see what the riders will conjure up in the sky this year. Last year, Frenchman Antoine Bizet wowed viewers and judges alike with a cash roll, a double backflip, a backflip 360 and a front flip no-hand. The podium was completed by the American Nicholi Rogatkin and Thomas Genon from Belgium.
Out of Bounds Festival: World-class competitions and attractive side events
On Sunday the fastest riders in the world will compete for important points at the UCI MTB Downhill World Cup. The demanding downhill track "Speedster" awaits the riders again with high-speed passages, carpets of roots and huge jumps. Aaron Gwin's downhill runs in 2014 and 2015 are unforgettable. Last year the chain failed shortly after the start, unimpressed by this Aaron Gwin "rolled" to the finish with the fastest time.
In addition to the world-class events, the Out of Bounds Festival offers visitors a colorful supporting program with attractive side events. On Saturday morning, the very young bikers can put their skills to the test at the Kids Pumptrack Challenge. In the evenings, the DJs Wild Culture ensure proper vibes at the Ö3 disco. Two more delicacies are on the program on Sunday with the Red Bull Sky Dive Show and the Trial Show with Tom Öhler. The large Expo Area invites you to extensive discovery and exchange of experiences on all days.
