MTB cycling: The La Thuile Enduro World Series powered by SRAM stands for adrenaline-filled mountain bike sport in every respect: Mighty mountains, violent falls and – this year – two unstoppable winners: Richie Rude and Cecile Ravanel.
The Italian Alps formed the fascinating backdrop for the fourth race of the Enduro World Series 2016 last weekend. In the Aosta Valley on the edge of Mont Blanc, 400 riders battled for more crucial points for the general standings, now led by Richie Rude (Yeti Fox Shox) and Cecile Ravanel (Commencal Vallnord Enduro Team). Both the American and the French dominated their classes in an impressive manner. Richie Rude was able to win five out of six stages, he only had to settle for second place in the fifth stage. Second in the men's race was Australia's Sam Hill (Chain Reaction Cycles / Paypal) followed by Damien Oton (Devinci Enduro Racing) from France. Cecile Ravanel won all six stages and relegated her compatriot Isabeau Coudier (Sunn) to second place, Canadian Andréane Lanthier Nadeau (Rocky Mountain – Urge) finished third. The next round of the Enduro World Series will take place on 30./31. July in Aspen Snowmass / Colorado.
