Cycling is fun, alone or in a group. And every now and then you get a flat tire. It actually always happens to others, but not always.
Well, and then you look stupid. Flat tires and no one has a proper pump with them. One has a super light one, but you pump yourself stupidly. The other one has a nice looking one on the frame, but somehow doesn't want to get stuck on the valve. The third doesn't have any at all, since someone always has a pump... who doesn't know that?
There is now a suitable pump for every cyclist and for every application. However, the CON-TEC Air Support Pocket mini pump made available to our team with an extendable hose that is screwed or plugged onto the valve should appeal to many, as the weight/performance/design ratio is extremely good.
With a length of approx. 23 cm, this chic, almost noble pump made of black matt aluminum weighs 120 g, a completely acceptable to good weight for its pump performance of 5,5 HV bar, where HV stands for high volume: fewer pump strokes larger pump volume. It's also small enough to keep in your back pocket, or attach to your frame with the dedicated mounts. It fits in perfectly with our matt black wheels!
The big advantage in my opinion is the pull-out valve: Especially when it comes to a mountain or cross bike and you break down somewhere on sloping terrain, the approx. 12 cm long hose gives you much greater and therefore pleasant flexibility: you have to no longer hold the pump perpendicular to the valve, and this protects the valve. You save energy and nerves. And then one should praise their performance: Because in a few strokes (ie for such a small pump) the tire is bulging. I found that particularly impressive.
When I recently had the pleasure of a flat tire at a race and had to inflate the tire for an insanely long time with a so-called micro pump, the CON-TEC Air Support Pocket mini pump secured its place on the frame of my bike for the future. And that to the delight of my driving companions in the event of a flat tire.
