MTB cycling: The TrailTrophy powered by Transalpes.com celebrated a successful premiere last weekend: For the first time, the international enduro series made a guest appearance in the Flims-Laax-Falera region. A premiere with great success - and to the delight of the spectators firmly in the hands of the local riders!
The fourth of a total of five stations awaited the enduro riders with fantastic weather, only on Sunday a little rain was announced. The program over the three days was really something to be proud of: 13 stages, some with high-alpine special tests, demanded a lot from the participants technically and physically. Of the more than 300 riders, Gusti Wildhaber (Cube Action Team), Mirco Widmer (Giant Swiss Team) and Camille Balanche (Norco One80 Enduro Racing Team) were able to set the best times in their classes.
Gusti Wildhaber needed a time of 13:31 minutes for the 32,5 stages and thus won the Pro Class Men. 1:15 minutes behind Wildhaber, Mirco Widmer (32:45,2 minutes) was 37 seconds faster than Stefan Peter (Wheeler – iXS Team / 33:22,6 minutes) in the Rider Class Men category. Marco Arnold (Giant Swiss Team) finished third with a time of 33:36,5 minutes. With these results, the Swiss men presented themselves extremely well in Flims-Laax-Falera.
No less impressive was the performance of the Swiss women, who also completely claimed the podium. Camille Balanche was able to post a time of 37:08,8 minutes and was almost two minutes faster than Stefanie Thalmann (ION - MAHU / 39:06,5 minutes). Third fastest at the TrailTrophy premiere in Flims-Laax-Falera was Michelle Hediger (ATBienen / 39:52,0 minutes). The fourth of five events as part of the TrailTrophy 2016 is history.
From September 16th to 18th, the TrailTrophy 2016 will come to an end at Plan de Corones.
