The owl again! I'm still in the US and now that our Away with the Champs event has come to a successful conclusion I'll be planning a week or two of vacations in the States. In the last few days I've been out and about a lot on and around Lake Tahoe between Nevada and California - partly on the racer, partly on the mountain bike. It's just fantastic here, the climate is perfect and the view is magnificent.

I also visited Roland Della Santa in his workshop. If the name doesn't mean anything: He is probably one of the most well-known frame builders in the USA and a huge cycling fan. Back then he built his first bikes for Greg LeMond and followed his rise. Otherwise, he really knows every driver from back then - amazing! Roland is a great guy and always has cool stories to tell. He also still builds frames in his workshop. Great.

In the last few weeks - as is usually the case for me - everything has revolved around bicycles and cycling and a little variety is good: That's why I made a small detour to Reno, to the Nevada Wolfpack football stadium. Great atmosphere - no wonder, after all, the college team sent the opponent from Buffalo home with 38:14.

I'm staying here for a while, on October 1st I'll compete in Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge Gran Fondo, among others. By the way, I'm meeting Levi on Friday... I'm looking forward to it! You will then hear from me again.

Until then,
Your Ulle
