News in brief: Successful start to the European Road Championships from a German perspective: Lennard Kämna won the time trial in the U23 class ahead of Filippo Ganna from Italy and Remi Cavagna from France. It is the first win of the season for the 20-year-old, who will compete for the German professional team Giant-Alpecin next year.
Lennard Kämna confidently secured the U23 European Championship title in the time trial on the approx. 25km long route in Plumelec, France. With a time of 33:59, the 20-year-old distanced himself from the competition from Italy, in the person of Flippo Ganna, by 30 seconds. Kämna had already won bronze in the U23s at the World Championships last year – so the success at the European Championships didn’t really come as a surprise, but it underlines the youngster’s qualities once again.
