Archive: TEAM GREEN'N FIT: Material report ROSE by Chiba BIOXCELL gloves

28 October 2016 by the editorial office

Material report by Marco Bastiaansen / Team Green'n Fit

For these gloves, ROSE has made the know-how of the glove specialist Chiba its own. Very clever. The result is an all-round successful short finger glove that knows how to convince.

As soon as you put it on for the first time, innovative features are revealed, which can be found in rows in this model. They can be put on quickly at the grip loop and sit very comfortably on the skin. The same applies to undressing, because Rose has also given this model so-called undressing aids, which are 100% attached to the right place and can be grabbed blindly. And anyway: I am particularly pleased that the size specification is finally based on the current Central European standard and that the gloves even fit "real guys". They fit perfectly even with my giant hands, the fit is outstanding.

Then the next aha experience on the bike: The BIOXCELL gel cushion really deserves the title. Thanks to Digital Carbon Fiber, the glove knew how to please right from the start thanks to a secure, direct grip on the handlebars without annoying bulges. And to get straight to the point: even after 200 kilometers of the marathon there was no reason to complain. On the contrary, you hardly notice that you are wearing a glove. I could not find any pressure points on the ball of the hand or a feeling of numbness, even remotely.

The ROSE BIOXCELL leaves a positive impression even in high summer temperatures on long climbs. This is what happened in the sweltering heat on the Feldberg, where I could really rely on the glove. Thanks to the excellent air circulation, the unpleasant heat did not build up on my hands, nor did I have to worry about scratching or chafing myself when wiping my face with the inflexible material. A very skin-friendly terry cloth layer was applied to the top of the thumb, which is simply top-functional.

My conclusion: The ROSE BIOXCELL is a first-class product, first-class workmanship, made from the highest quality materials, with an outstanding price-performance ratio and my first choice for tours in the warmer months of the year. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces of cycling clothing now!
