Spectrum: Already for the 22nd time on 19./20. August 2017 the EuroEyes CYCLASSICS organized in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. More than 20.000 cyclists and around 750.000 spectators are expected at the event weekend. The Hamburg cycle race is open to professionals and recreational athletes. Registration for the EuroEyes CYCLASSICS 2017 opens today at 12.00 noon.
Cyclists are offered three courses with lengths of 60, 120 and 180 kilometers. There will be route changes for the two longer routes in the coming year. The race over 120 kilometers contains about 100 kilometers from previous years and will lead over the Köhlbrand Bridge towards Lower Saxony. The new 180 kilometer route is strongly based on the course of the elite riders. With the wide and attractive range of routes, the organizers want to enable cyclists of all riding levels and ages to take part in the event. The fast, rather flat routes lead past the striking sights of the Hanseatic city and allow both the participants and the spectators to immerse themselves in a fantastic atmosphere. The races are held on streets that are completely closed to public traffic.
The EuroEyes CYCLASSICS are part of the VELOTHON Series, which organizes unique and breathtaking cycling events in the most attractive cities in the world. In addition to Hamburg, the series will also be shown in 2017 on November 17th and 18th. stop in Berlin in June. Further stops next year are Wales, Edmonton and Stockholm. With 20.000 participants, Hamburg not only hosts Europe's largest amateur race, but also one of two professional cycle races of the UCI WorldTour on German soil.
