cycling: Driver presentation of Team Corratec 2017

February 11rd 2017 by Florian Nowak

For the 2017 season arises with the Team Corratec a new team in the everyone's area. After the roots go back to 2014, when dedicated cyclists were on the road for the first time under the name Team Corratec, the current team now wants to build on the success again and share the passion for cycling. With well-known drivers from the scene, you are well prepared for the 2017 season.

With 8 drivers, an ambitious works team from the Upper Bavarian company Corratec was formed again for the 2017 season. The team wants to continue the Corratec success story with top-class riders, such as the 2016 King of the Glockner, Johannes Brendl, or the winner of the Ötztal cycle marathon, Bernd Hornetz. The 8 athletes of Team Corratec 2017 stand for passion, commitment and team spirit, for experience combined with talent and youthful freshness. The team is also international with male and female drivers from Germany, Belgium and the Philippines. For the start of the 2017 season, the team received an invitation to the 2nd Int. Cycling Festival of North Cyprus.

Start of the season on Cyprus as the first form test

Shortly before Christmas, Team Corratec surprisingly received an invitation from Cyprus to the 2nd Int. Cycling Festival of North Cyprus with four stages from February 16th to 19.02.2017th, 2017. The tour represents a special challenge for the team, as usually no one in the Corratec team has started a tour this early in the season. This is particularly due to the fact that the concept is designed for the peak periods from April to September. Nevertheless, the drivers of the team are fully motivated and look forward to spending time together. The main goal will be collecting race kilometers in order to start the 3 season even better prepared. Nevertheless, you want to be actively involved right from the start. Bart Bury and Stefan Oettl with already good performances are currently available for the overall classification. Wolfgang Hofmann, Michael Markolf and also Stefan Oettl should try what is possible with the different mountain classifications. The profile of the first 182 mountainous stages over 161, 131 and XNUMX km should suit the team.
The 4th and final stage (60km with 45 laps of 1,5km each) is certainly not part of Team Corratec's "core business", but they would like to be surprised by the opposite.

The stages at a glance:

1st stage February 16.02.2017, 182: 2 km with XNUMX major climbs, with mountain and sprint ratings
2st stage February 17.02.2017, 167: 2 km with XNUMX major climbs, with mountain and sprint ratings
3rd stage February 18.02.2017, 131: 1 km with XNUMX big climb, with mountain and sprint ratings
4th stage 19.02.2017/60/45: 1,5 km criterion with XNUMX laps of XNUMX km

Johannes Berndl started his cycling career in 2010 in the junior area of the RSV-Traunstein and immediately landed a special success as Bavarian Vice Champion Mountain, which was already a sign that a great mountain rider could grow up here. More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
