MTB cycling / spectrum: The VAUDE Trans Schwarzwald mountain bike stage race has been an integral part of the MTB racing calendar since 2006, but the cut came with the eleventh edition last year. The popular mountain bike event will celebrate its premiere with a new concept in August 2017 under the name Rothaus Bike Giro powered by Hochschwarzwald. Quality and spirit should continue to be the benchmark.
The new concept makes the event much clearer and more compact with shorter distances. Four stages and two central locations form the core of the Rothaus Bike Giro powered by Hochschwarzwald, but the usual attractiveness of the routes should remain unchanged. The participants can look forward to a total of around 250 kilometers with 7.800 meters of altitude difference over the four days. In the first two stages, the Rothaus brewery in Grafenhausen-Rothaus will mark the start and finish; the last two stages are dedicated to the 1493 meter high Feldberg. Only trails should get under the wheels, which definitely promises driving fun. According to the organizer, visual and technical wow effects should not be neglected. Of course, a special incentive for many participants should also be the fact that August is a premiere event - and who wouldn't want to immortalize themselves in the list of winners or even as a winner? Hermann Pernsteiner and Elisabeth Brandau won the last edition of the VAUDE Trans Schwarzwald.
