Inside Blog: Hard days are behind the pros from Team BULLS. The defending champions still have problems finding their way into the race - but the mission of defending the title is not entirely hopeless - settlement will be settled at the end.
Things are not going well for the Bulls at this year's Cape Epic (yet). As the reigning champions, Karl Platt and Urs Huber were under a lot of pressure from Day 1 and even though they are gradually finding their way into the race, they are now more than ten minutes behind the two leaders Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini. Not hopeless, but the title defense mission is shaky. Karl Platt struggles with the conditions, with his form, but doesn't lose his sense of humor either. On Instagram he writes: “I'm not happy with how the Cape Epic has gone so far. Has anyone seen my legs on the track? Please bring her to me. But I can still smile and try to find them myself! Thanks for the great support out there. It's great to see the cheering people along the route!”
The support team led by Tim Böhme and Simon Stiebjahn also had a difficult day yesterday - Tim in particular made the painful acquaintance of the man with the hammer. Things went better today, but the top position announced at the start of the race should now be out of reach.
Stefan Sahm as E-MTB cameraman with a 360° view
Like last year, Stefan Sahm is out in the field in 2017 as a speeding cameraman with a backpack full of modern technology to collect exciting recordings for the live stream and numerous videos after the stage. As a multiple winner of the stage race, he knows exactly how to behave on his BULLS E-Stream Evo FS in the field so as not to impede the other drivers. The shots straight from the trail are often spectacular and the 360° videos give a unique insight into the racing action. The videos work best on a smartphone, with which you can look around 'live' at the race.
