MTB cycling: This coming weekend, the International MTB Bundesliga starts the 2017 season with the BiketheRock in Heubach. The strong starting field promises great sport right from the start. The men's field is led by European Champion Julien Absalon, in the women's field Jolanda Neff and Annika Langvad meet.
What a starting field at the 17th edition of the classic BiketheRock! Nine men's drivers are in the top 14 of the world rankings, and the duel between world number one Jolanda Neff (Kross Racing) and world number two Annika Langvad (Specialized Racing) also promises to be highly dramatic for women. A field can hardly be set up much more densely and top-class. After the race last Sunday in Haiming / Austria, Julien Absalon (BMC Racing) and Florian Vogel (Focus XC) are the favorites in Heubach. The German hopes are primarily on Moritz Milatz, who will start for the 15th time in Heubach on Sunday. The Bundesliga record winner, who is now 2003, has been there every year since 34.
Even if the upcoming duel Jolanda Neff vs. Annika Langvad makes the headlines, Adelheid Morath is of course eagerly awaited. The climbing specialist from Freiburg is certainly capable of a podium finish. Bundesliga title defender Hanna Klein is also on the hunt for points. Things will really get down to business in Heubach! The second of a total of five rounds of the International MTB Bundesliga 2017 will then follow in mid-May with the Vulkan Race Gedern.
