Spectrum: The organizers look back on the second edition of the E-Bike Festival Dortmund presented by Shimano with great satisfaction. With 55.000 visitors and 136 exhibitors, the event exceeded all expectations. The three impressive days in the Ruhr area metropolis once again confirm the e-bike as the growth engine of the industry.

The upward trend in e-bikes continues unabated. Last year, 605.000 e-bikes were sold in Germany alone. A figure that makes the manufacturers very optimistic and ambitious: In 2020, the one million mark should be cracked. The popularity and acceptance of the e-bike was also evident at the 2nd E-Bike Festival Dortmund presented by Shimano. From April 7th to 9th, the metropolis in the Ruhr region was all about cycling with a built-in tailwind.

Numerous exhibitors presented the latest trends in the scene and provided the many visitors with advice and support. Of course, Paul Lange & Co. OHG, one of the leading European companies in the bicycle industry, was also there. The presenter of the festival had the new, extremely light Shimano Steps E-8000 drive in his luggage. Market leader Bosch naturally insisted on presenting the Performance Line CX drive. But it wasn't just the many manufacturers who were busy.

The supporting program also provided entertainment and lots of fun. The new test concept with the additional eURBAN test course was particularly well received. The new e-mountain bike generation was also considered. At the 4X E-Bike Nightsprint, the spectacular cross course was a full throttle, with air time not to be missed. Other sporting highlights were the Scott Junior Trophy for kids and the side event outdoor/indoor cycling in the pot, where people cycled on the festival stage for a good cause.
A very successful event – we are already looking forward to the third edition!
