The step-through surprises with the longest range on level ground in the entire test field; only two models with dual batteries continue. Kalkhoff relies on the Shimano Steps drive, which offers a good Bosch level in terms of handling and responds quickly, but stood out in the test due to the somewhat higher noise level. The Select also invites you to go on long tours in terms of seating comfort: the suspension fork and suspension seat post respond softly, the handlebars are comfortably curved backwards. The bike is equipped with the eight-speed hub gears that are standard in this class, the twist grip could be smoother, and with safely decelerating hydraulic rim brakes. Unfortunately, no reversible key is used for the battery and frame lock; the key must therefore always be aligned.
