Market / E-Performance: E-bikes are clearly the most coveted bicycle category at the moment. All major brands have models in their range and those who are self-reliant try to realize their own concept. The additional technology that the drive brings with it needs to be explained and requires trained contact persons for maintenance. Increasing mechanization is not making things any easier for the customer either. In addition, there is the sheer number of models, some of which have large price differences. It's easy to lose track of things. The E-point offers a solution here. Many models from different brands, with various drives, from a single source. From a competent contact person who also takes care of the service after you have bought the bike, so that you can continue to enjoy your pedelec for a long time.
Why E point?
The basic idea of the concept is to offer technically mature and attractively priced models from specialist retail brands in combination with well-founded and understandable advice from committed local dealers. This was and is still being implemented today with targeted, regular training courses on technology and maintenance as well as with an extensive range of advertising and information material for the dealer.
The advantages for the customer
It is important that these are specialist dealers with a high level of service. In addition to the large selection of products, the cyclist is also offered a complete package all around. Every E-Punkt dealer has a large number of pedelecs permanently in stock, many of them even as test bikes. Compared to the start of the concept, the range now also includes e-models from the CONWAY and i:SY brands in addition to the main brand VICTORIA. All three brands have many e-points in their program - but the VICTORIA e-bikes are definitely available for purchase.
"In a competitive environment in which almost every dealer sells e-bikes, is the E-PUNKT a noticeable and effective differentiator in a densely populated market. With e-bikes from well-known manufacturers for all common usage profiles as well as trained staff in the trade, we are now the reference in terms of e-bike advice and sales with well over 1000 e-points."
What does E-Point mean for retail?
However, the E-Punkt concept not only wants to make e-bikers happy, but also their dealers. It creates the conditions for this through a number of measures that are perfectly tailored to retail. In two large-scale training series (spring and autumn) per season, solutions to the most current issues are presented. In this way, the customer always gets a competent answer to his question in the shop.
In addition to various information and advertising materials, support is also provided for events at the E-Punkt. E-Punkt dealers and employees, in turn, are involved as stand/sales staff at trade fairs/events and thus get a deeper insight into the industry and the market. In addition to the E-Punkt telephone service, our own field service with more than 100 employees and our own E-Punkt service workshop in the main building guarantee high-quality and fast processing of all matters. Retailers and customers benefit equally from this.
Which brands does an E-Point carry?
VICTORIA was originally the most important E-Punkt brand, CONWAY and i:SY are now equally important, but are not always available in all E-Punkt stores. Last but not least, this also has to do with the territorial protection of existing large CONWAY or i:SY dealers. Fairness and respect for the partnerships between dealers and manufacturers are cultivated. If a bike is not in the shop, but is generally available, it can be ordered quickly and easily. The eManufaktur series from VICTORIA has a special significance for the E points. At least one model from the noble range of the traditional manufacturer can always be found in the store. Around 50% of all models that an E-Punkt dealer includes in his personal selection can be seen in the permanent exhibition at E-Punkt.

Product news: Victoria E-Bikes 2017: Over 40 models for trekking, city and urban
Market: For over 130 years, the Victoria brand has been firmly associated with the bicycle theme. Despite all the awareness of tradition, current developments are not overslept and the focus is increasingly on the e-bike card. The Victoria e-bikes 2017 include a total of over 40 models - we have plowed through the range and give a small overview. Victoria electric bikes […]

Product news: Conway E-MTBs 2017: Over 20 models from €1.999
Market: For 2017, the German manufacturer Conway has expanded its own e-bike portfolio by 30% and of course also further expanded the e-MTB area, which was already very present. The E-Fullies get a new frame and a clearly sporty orientation and of course the now well-established plus tires. But of course there are also hardtail fans [...]
E point models
The selection of manufacturers and models in the E-Point is therefore large. As an example, we have chosen three highlight models that have also sold particularly well in the past. This shows the wide range - from step-through to E-MTB that you have to choose from on site.
In perhaps no other area of cycling do e-bikes compete more with their non-motorized counterparts than with trekking bikes. As a pack donkey, tourer and all-rounder, they have to be used for many areas of application and are the "utility bike" par excellence for many buyers. With the VICTORIA eTrekking 8.9 you get a high-quality equipped e-bike with XT equipment, disc brakes, Bosch Performacne CX drive and 3.000Wh battery for almost €500.
Price: € 2.999
The bikes from VICTORIA eManufaktur show that e-bikes can also be stylish, and the developers also showed courage when it came to the shape and colour. The eManufaktur 9.8 comes as a comfortable step-through bike with a performance motor from Bosch, disc brakes and a battery hidden in the seat tube.
Price: € 3.599
Now it's getting sporty. E-MTBs have been the boom sector in the bicycle market for the past two years and will probably remain so for quite a while. The e-bike was finally able to emancipate itself as a piece of sports equipment and bikes like the Conway EMF 527 Plus make it clear why: with a modern geometry, powerful Rock Shox chassis, SRAM EX1 gears and Plus tires, it could also be a high-quality, "normal" MTB : On the EMF, however, the Performance CX motor from Bosch together with its 500Wh battery provides a good tailwind.
Price: € 4.599
We too had already tested a number of E-Punkt bikes and were impressed by the high quality. The local dealer has numerous different equipment variants and/or colors for almost all models. A detailed consultation directly in the shop helps to keep track of things. It's often just the details that decide whether you're completely happy with a bike. The E-point dealer makes fine adjustments and individual adjustments anyway after the purchase.
What does an e-dot offer consumers?
Website
The website www.e-punkt.de offers everyone interested in e-bikes an online home. In addition to the geographic overview of all E-Punkt dealers combined with a postcode search, it offers a number of other features. This is how E-Punkt dealers describe their day-to-day activities with guest comments. In addition, the most common target groups reporting from their e-bike practice are presented. In this way, the customer not only quickly finds a good contact person nearby without having to go from store to store. He also gets a direct, personal impression of his service partner and he can view some information in advance.
Buying a bike is complicated, and this is even more the case for a high-tech e-bike. Many interested parties will therefore welcome the fact that many questions are clarified here in order to make the purchase decision a little easier. There is an overview of the different bike categories and if you still only understand the train station, clear videos will help.
Selection and advice on site
The huge selection from a large number of branded pedelecs from different manufacturers is certainly the decisive advantage. So the buyer can be sure that he really gets what suits him. Efforts will always be made to make the offer meaningful and comprehensive, as well as modern and in line with demand. This means that dealers and customers will always find a modern and up-to-date portfolio with manufacturers and system providers that are in demand in the market with or in an E-Punkt.
Is the E-Point a beautiful new e-bike world? – Interview with E-Punkt dealer Adam's bike shop in Berlin

We know that the bikes from the E-Punkt brands are good across the board and offer an attractive overall package. But is the E-Punkt concept really what offers customers and dealers the decisive advantages? We say "yes" because we asked critical questions and visited an E-point base in Berlin. We were with Adam's bike shop and spoke to Mr. and Mrs. Adam.
Velomotion: How long have you been an E-Punkt dealer?
Mr Adam: For about 5 years, we are among the first to exist.
Velomotion: What do you think is the greatest advantage for the customer?
Mrs Adam: The E-Punkt dealer not only has a few models in the range, as is usual, but can also satisfy every requirement with a large number of models.
Mr Adam: Customer satisfaction is also a key element. We receive regular training courses that give us better knowledge of how to use the bikes. The customer benefits directly from this when it comes to advice and repairs.
Velomotion: What do you think about the E-Punkt homepage?
Mr Adam: That's great for us retailers because it's easy for customers to find us. The zip code is entered and the page shows all dealers in the area.
Velomotion: And the consumers who come to you will then find what they are looking for?
Mr Adam: Yes, definitely yes. With the E-Punkt range, we have not only sporty bikes but also stylish bikes for urban use in our range. More and more people are coming to us who are relatively young or quite sporty and still want an e-bike. With the e-mountain bikes from Conway or the hip i:SY, we can also offer something nice to trend-conscious Berliners who don't want to arrive at the office sweaty.
Velomotion: So is the product range future-proof for you?
Mrs Adam: Definitely, there has been a lot of work done in recent years. What we cannot offer is not asked for.
Velomotion: How about sales support? What happens there?
Mr Adam: The training helps a lot. It's getting more and more complicated and we know our way around better than others. Our customers are happy about that and they stay with us. Good brochures and price tags and other things also help in everyday life because our customers can find their way around better. But what is also incredibly important to us is availability. We can almost always get bikes later without any problems until the end of the season. Others have to sell what they have there, which is sometimes at the expense of the customer, who then doesn't get the most suitable bike.
Velomotion: Are there any other unique selling propositions that you benefit from?
Mr Adam: The drivers who bring the goods are trained in handling them. Nothing arrives damaged.
Mrs Adam: The service that is offered is great. Even if you call, you will be helped quickly. Nobody has to wait long for a spare part.
Velomotion: What else would you wish for from the E-Point?
Mrs Adam: We may have to use some things more ourselves. We want to do an e-bike event. Then they could support us. In general, an E-point roadshow would be great.
Velomotion: And what about the wheels? Other colors or equipment?
Mr Adam: No. Of course someone wants a different color, but you can't always offer everything to everyone. There is always another model in the color of your choice. And the bikers are completely satisfied with the equipment, they are happy. I think it's different with e-bikes anyway, it's a bigger purchase than a normal bike. People don't buy according to trends so much, but make decisions based on reason.
Velomotion: Would you become an E-Punkt dealer again if you had to make a new decision today?
Mr Adam: Yes, in any case. If you are convinced of the e-bike, then that's great. As an e-bike dealer, you have to invest. The products you buy are more expensive than non-e-bikes. The workshop team must also be able to do more and be trained. If you are willing to do that, the E-Punkt concept gives you the opportunity to offer customers a very, very good package.
