Market / Spectrum: With the aim of promoting a positive start-up climate in Germany, the German Start-up Prize is awarded annually to outstanding companies. The award is given in the categories student, start-up, climber and life's work. The German gearbox specialist Pinion is one of the three finalists in the climbers category.
The jury for the German Founder's Award is made up of around three hundred experts from companies, technology centers, ministries, start-up initiatives and the Savings Banks Finance Group. The prize is awarded by the partners stern, savings banks, ZDF and Porsche. Sponsors are Bertelsmann SE, Gruner + Jahr, the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the insurance companies of the savings banks. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is a cooperation partner of the initiative, which aims to encourage self-employment. The award is worthwhile for the finalists: They not only receive individual advice from Porsche Consulting, but also benefit from access to the alumni network of the German Founder's Prize. Members of the Board of Trustees also take on a two-year sponsorship for each finalist. “For us, being one of the finalists in the German Founder's Prize is an important milestone in the company's history. It is a confirmation of what we have already achieved and a great motivation for everything that we still have in mind," says Christoph Lermen, Managing Director of Pinion.
