Cycling: Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) continues to win the Tour de Suisse as he wants. The Slovak also won the 8th stage on the bumpy circuit in Schaffhausen. Hansen wins the mountains classification - Sagan the stage
The organizers of the Tour de Suisse have come up with something very special for the eighth stage. It was to be held on a 12,5 kilometer circuit in Schaffhausen and only be 100 kilometers long. On each lap, there was a 1,6 kilometer climb with an average gradient of 4,2 percent. Already when things started to go uphill, four escapees broke away from the peloton: Lasse Norman Hansen (Aqua Blue Sport), Nick Van der Lijke (Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij), Jaco Venter (Dimension Data) and Jelle Wallays (Lotto-Soudal). ). Van der Lijke and Hansen fought the battle for victory in the mountains classification today, hand-to-hand in the escape group. At the end of the day, Hansen prevailed, but the group had no chance of getting through. Since the last lap was neutralized for the general classification, it was all about the stage win. Peter Sagan secured this once again with confidence. In the overall standings, everything stays the same before the final time trial.
