Product news: BikeYoke brings 185mm version of the REVIVE dropper post

July 31, 2017 by Andrew Waldera

Market: The Munich component manufacturer BikeYoke is upping the ante again at the RIVIVE. The test winner of our list of the best in the dropper seatpost category can now also be ordered as a lavish 185mm version. The 185mm version was worked on details that also benefit the 125mm and 160mm BikeYoke REVIVE telescopic supports.

Very good workmanship, perfect function and great remote - the BikeYoke REVIVE dropper post was able to absolutely convince our editors in the test and thus deservedly took the top spot in the best list. Now the component forge from Munich is upping the ante again at the REVIVE. In addition to the already available versions with 125mm and 160mm adjustment range, there is now a variant with a generous 185mm. The BikeYoke REVIVE is aimed at bikers who want a telescopic seat post with more adjustment travel. Strengths are also the extremely low installation dimensions and the short overall length.

But not only the adjustment path has changed. The inventors at BikeYoke have also worked on details from which the two previous versions also benefit. A patented, flexible membrane (microvalve) in the outer oil/air chamber is designed to prevent air from entering the inner chamber when the seat post is rotated - this would cause the seat post to bounce. Especially in situations where the support is stored or transported overhead, the risk of a necessary reset should be minimized.

The reset process is currently carried out using an Allen key - but this is no longer the case with the new models! A small lever that can remain in the reset valve eliminates the need for an external key. However, the owner has the choice of whether the integrated mini reset lever should remain on the bike or not. This clever solution was realized with an O-ring that secures the metal lever. The lever can also be removed for a clean look. Also new is the option to purchase the BikeYoke REVIVE dropper post without a remote.
