Product news / Eurobike 2017: At the Eurobike 2017, Drössiger not only had new MTBs in their luggage (we reported), but with the Drössiger RSA Steps a stylish new urban e-bike that can shine with great equipment at a really attractive price.
Evolution instead of revolution - a phrase that is often used, but it often hits the right note. This also applies to Drössiger's product portfolio in 2018. The manufacturer from North Rhine-Westphalia is sticking to the chosen direction in many areas, but is still developing further; a good example of this is the new Drössiger RSA Steps e-bike. With its reduced, puristic design, it is visually reminiscent of the established urban bike RSA Street (here's the test), only now with motor support.

With the latter, too, great experiments are avoided and the Shimano E6000 is not installed as a brand new drive, but rather one that suits the bike and Drössiger. The mid-engine from the Japanese is quite compact, quiet, extremely energy-efficient and, last but not least, relatively cheap to buy, which makes extremely attractive prices possible for the complete bike.
The Drössiger RSA Steps was developed and designed primarily for use in urban areas. Somewhere between a practical everyday companion and a style statement with its reduced, simple look, moderately sporty geometry, fixed mudguards and high-quality LED lighting. However, anyone who already has rattling nightmares at the thought of mudguards can relax - the robust Racktime Wingee not only reliably protect against spray and rain, but also stay quiet as a mouse even on the worst bike path. Luggage bags can also be easily attached to the integrated cross brace - whether for the morning trip to the office or a weekend trip.
Certainly nothing new for Drössiger fans, but still worth mentioning every time: When it comes to the frame color, Drössiger buyers have a free choice and can choose from numerous shades themselves - in addition to a few standard RAL shades, by the way, above all self-mixed shades that you can not available everywhere. The color of the corresponding decor is also left to the later owner. For a few euros extra, you can also have the mudguards individually powder coated, these come in plain black as standard.
Initially, the RSA Steps will be available in two configurations. While the €2.699 entry-level model with solid Deore equipment including disc brakes should be a faithful everyday companion, the RSA Steps Comfort came up with something special: It is shifted with an electronic Di2 shifting hub from Shimano, which can also change gears fully automatically if desired completes. The Gates drive belt is nice and quiet, clean and extremely low-maintenance. The noble equipment is rounded off by a Brooks saddle, Brooks grips and LED lighting from Supernova. At a price of €3.299, it's a real announcement to the competition.
