Eurobike 2017 / Market: Scott traveled to this year's Eurobike with the latest news and bikes. In addition to the new racing bike models Foil Disc and Addict RC (we reported), the Swiss-based company presented two more innovations: the Trail Protect EVO FR'20 backpack and the Scott Carbon MTB Racing Shoes.
Scott Trail Protect EVO FR'20 backpack
For 2018 Scott expands the popular backpack series Trail Protect. The Scott Trail Protect EVO FR'20 model comes with a volume of 20 liters and a fully integrated, TÜV-certified D30 multi-impact back protector. The plastically shaped back with moisture management, in combination with the breathable hip belt and shoulder straps, should guarantee the rider optimal wearing comfort. The large main compartment has an additional mesh pocket, and there is a separate compartment at the front for tools and mini tools. There is also a separate compartment for the hydration bladder. The elastic side pockets, the mesh pocket on the shoulder strap and the mobile phone pocket on the back offer additional storage space. A rain cover is included for extensive rides in the rain. The weight of the one-size-fits-all backpack is 1018 grams. The Scott Trail Protect EVO FR'12 with a volume of 12 liters is ideal for shorter trips and, apart from its size, has the same properties as the larger model.
Scott Carbon MTB Racing Shoes
Scott offers ambitious mountain bikers and racers three new shoe models. The outstanding features of the new shoes include the sole made of HMX carbon fiber with Corecell foam core and the minimally profiled ASE-EVA outsole made of Sticki Rubber. The stiffness index of 10 speaks for maximum stiffness and optimal power transmission. The Scott Carbon MTB Racing shoes have two Boa IP-1 locking wheels to reliably fix the shoe to the foot. Another special feature can be seen when looking at the removable insole, which is characterized by an adjustable arch and metatarsal insert. The weight of the shoe in size US 8.5 is between 320 grams and 330 grams depending on the model.
