Cycling: Chris Froome (Sky) took a huge step towards overall victory at the Vuelta a España. The Brit won today's time trial over 40,2 kilometers from Circuito de Navarra to Logroño. Wilco Kelderman and the only 20-year-old Lennard Kämna from the German team Sunweb also presented themselves very well. Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) delivered a strong final time trial in his career.

Many classification riders with large deficits - Kämna strong
As is so often the case in a time trial, differences are made. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Chris Froome (Sky) will come out on top. But in today's battle for the two remaining podium places, every second counted. Wilco Kelderman (Sunweb) has certainly done the best job in that regard. The Dutchman finished second on stage, just 29 seconds down on Froome. Since Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) was a little slower, Kelderman is now chasing him. Old master Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) made up the most places in the top ten. The Spaniard was a strong fifth in the stage and improved from ninth to fifth. On the other hand, Fabio Aru (Astana) and Esteban Chaves (Orica-Scott) had to take a hard smack. The two strong climbers lost 3:03 and 4:01 minutes to Froome. Especially gratifying from a German perspective: The only 20-year-old Lennard Kämna finished eighth, underlining his huge talent in the fight against the clock.
