With the Corratec Life S, Corratec caused quite a stir at the Eurobike and attracted numerous visitors to the booth. The new e-city bike stands on small 20″ wheels, which in turn come with wide balloon tires. The bike itself is somewhere between a stylish beach cruiser and a modern compact bike. The focus is clear: the bike should be a style-conscious and practical companion for the city in equal measure. Thanks to its geometry with a flat steering angle, the One Size Fits All frame allows you to put your feet comfortably on the ground when stopping without having to move out of the saddle.

From a technical point of view, there is solid to high-quality fare: The Corratec Life S is driven in all equipment variants by the new Bosch Active Line Plus motor, the 400 or 500Wh battery (depending on the equipment variant) is located on the seat tube and is easy to remove. The entry-level model relies on a 7-speed hub gear from Shimano, the top model comes with the stepless NuVinci N380 shifting hub. All variants have the wide 3″ tires together with robust mudguards, a fixed luggage rack and a StVZO-compliant lighting system in common.
Visually, everything is left open to buyers, from brightly colored to reserved: the basic frame is available in black and white, the mudguards in many (also bright) colors. Prices for the stylish city bike start at €2.500.

Corratec E-Bikes 2018: Corratec Life
In contrast to the brand new Life S, the Corratec Life Bike is something of an old acquaintance in the portfolio of the manufacturer from Upper Bavaria. The concept is specifically aimed at a target group that is looking for a way (back) into an active lifestyle for a wide variety of reasons. Be it due to illness, old age or overweight: The Life Bike offers very good conditions here to ensure a pleasant and easy start and to motivate the driver to exercise.
The geometry is very relaxed with an upright sitting position, the comfortable SQ Lab saddle prevents sitting problems and the very stable 26″ wheels in connection with the extra reinforced frame allow a weight release of up to 180kg. The Life Bike is powered by either the Bosch Performance or the Bosch Performance CX motor, depending on the equipment variant.

Corratec E-Bikes 2018: Corratec E-Power C29
Corratec's all-round e-bike platform for trekking, touring and city goes by the name E-Power again in 2018 and, as before, is offered in three basic configurations, which differ in terms of wheel size, tires and frame shape. The name suffix at the end of the model reveals where the journey is going. The Corratec C29 comes with wide 29-inch tires for a lot of comfort and traction, even off the beaten track - a very good choice for those who want to take longer weekend tours with their e-bike in addition to everyday routes. The E-Power 28 comes with classic 28 inch trekking tires and is a good all-rounder.
The E-Power 26 step-through bike is a bit more exotic in terms of its wheel size. Like the Life Bike, this is equipped with the 26-inch standard that many have already declared dead. However, the choice makes sense for some areas of application: the smaller wheels are usually stiffer and more stable than their larger counterparts and the bike is noticeably more manoeuvrable with a smaller turning circle due to the shorter wheelbase; an extremely positive side effect, especially in the narrow inner cities.

New in the 2018 model year is the Shadow Edge Tube technology, which is also used on the E-MTBs. This is Corratec's name for its newly developed down tube, which accommodates the integrable PowerTube 500 battery from Bosch and gives the e-bike an inconspicuously simple look. Special reinforcements ensure a lot of stability despite the hollow interior and a clever mechanism makes it easier to remove. A total of four E-Power models come in 2018 with batteries integrated in the frame.
