Product news: Concentrating on the essentials: Ghost Asket, the hardtail for every day and all purposes

13 November 2017 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: The Ghost Asket is the logical answer of the Upper Palatinate bike manufacturer Ghost to overstimulation and excess. This hardtail focuses on the essentials, on uncomplicated driving pleasure anytime and anywhere. Equipped with modern geometry, a flat steering angle and a short rear end, the Ghost Asket already promises a lot of fun on paper.

Sometimes less is actually more - the developers at Ghost Bikes from Waldsassen seem to have thought so too. The result is an aluminum hardtail that has a modern geometry with a slack steering angle, short chainstays and a steep seat angle. There is no excess spring travel on the Asket, which means that part of the maintenance and setup work is no longer necessary. Of course, the rider does not have to do without suspension completely. Depending on the equipment package, either an SR Suntour Auron 35 or an SR Suntour AION 34, each with 130 mm of travel, is used.

You are also free to choose the DT Swiss M 1900 Spline wheel size: The Ghost Asket models 8.9 and 4.9 roll through the railing on 29 inches, the 8.7 and 4.7 on the other hand on 27.5". The tire width of the Maxxis Pellen is 2.5" at the front and 2.4" at the rear, regardless of the wheels. Also state-of-the-art: With all Asket hardtails, a single gearshift ensures a wide range of gear ratios. The bikes are completed with a snappy 4/2-piston brake system and a long-travel Vario seat post - it's safer! Definitely sounds like a sensible overall package and fun. By the way, Ghost calls this type of all-round fun bike for unconditional riding pleasure “HardTrail”.
