For all mountain bikers, the Rock the Hill Festival celebrates its third edition in 2018. A combination of a colorful bike program and a concert guarantees a great weekend among like-minded people. We are giving away a VIP package worth over 300 euros!!!
Whether with or without an electric drive, the event and the location offers something for everyone. In the large Expo Area, many popular brands offer the opportunity to test bikes free of charge. There are companies like Bulls, Specialized, KTM, Pivot, Merida, Orange, Centurion and many others. If you want, you can go on the routes of the bike park. Bike park mastermind Diddie Schneider has conjured up the right trail in the mountain for every taste and every requirement. For e-bikers there is the “Bosch Uphill Flow Trail” which also makes the ascent really fun. If you want to know, you can plunge down the valley on the downhill slope, families enjoy the Flow Country and almost every biker can have fun on the recently renovated "Freeride" and "Evil Eye" routes.
There is an extensive supporting program with yoga, screwdriver workshops, guided tours and driving technique training. So if you don't dare to ride in the bike park, you can train your skills with professional instructors or explore the Bavarian Forest in a group. In the workshops, the skills for the important movements on the bike are learned. You can also set off alone, there is a wonderful touring area and numerous peaks and places to stop for refreshments around the Geisskopf. Fun races, such as the Pumptrack Race, invite you to watch.
During the day there will be musical atmosphere. "Red Bull DJ Alex" is DJing in the valley. There is an acoustic stage on the Geisskopfhütte at the summit. On Friday and Saturday evening music greats hand each other the microphone on stage. It's not just hard to the point, visitors can expect a mixture of rock from different genres and dialect. In recent years, bands such as Fiddlers Green, Prosecution, Django 3000, Boysetsfire, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies or Keller Steff and Big Band have created a great atmosphere. For 2018 the local heroes Dicht+Ergreifnd and the Donots have already announced themselves.
A large camping ground is available free of charge. In addition to the Forstgasthof and the Geisskopfhütte, there are also stalls with pizza, burgers and all kinds of other delicacies for your physical well-being. The event has been very popular in recent years and we expect these great events to increase again in 2018.
