LottoNL-Jumbo strong on any terrain
Despite the impressive number of 26 wins this season and a total of 71 places on the podium, the LottoNL-Jumbo team is only 16th in the UCI WorldTour ranking of teams. The reason: Most of the successes were celebrated outside of the WorldTour. Nevertheless, the Dutch team is one of the positive surprises of the season. One reason for this is definitely Dylan Groenewegen's breakthrough. The Dutchman is after his at the latest Victory on the Champs-Elysées in the Tour de France also known to the last cycling fan. But we didn't only get to see the yellow jerseys when things got particularly fast on the level. In 2017, the boys also got involved uphill. George Bennett won the Tour of California for LottoNL-Jumbo, Primoz Roglic the 17th stage of the Tour de France. Even in the time trial there was a big win: Jos Van Emden triumphed at the end of the Giro d'Italia.
Potential is far from exhausted
Although the LottoNL-Jumbo team management can be satisfied with the 2017 season, even better performances are expected in the coming year. Without being overly optimistic, this is also absolutely realistic, because the potential of many drivers is far from being exhausted. George Bennett, Primoz Roglic and above all Steven Kruijswijk can go one better in the overall rankings of the three major national tours. In the person of Danny Van Poppel, Team Sky also grabbed a suitable piece of the puzzle for Dylan Groenewegen. With the exception of the departure of European champion Victor Campanaerts, no potential winning driver has left the squad. All in all, the LottoNL-Jumbo team is consistently well positioned and should not seldom celebrate in 2018.
