Cycling: The Australian team Orica-Scott will compete in the 2018 UCI WorldTour under the name Mitchelton-Scott. In addition to the name change, there are also a few notable changes in the squad. The team should not have become weaker as a result.

Orica-Scott was on the podium a whopping 2017 times in 76
The GreenEdge Cycling Team became Orica GreenEdge in 2012, and then Orica-Bike-Exchange in 2016. before going stage hunting under Orica-Scott last season. Now there has been another change of sponsor. The wine producer Mitchelton from the state of Victoria replaces the chemical and explosives group Orica. The combination of the two main sponsors Mitchelton and Scott has already been tested. Since 2017 there has been a Chinese Continental team called Mitchelton-Scott. Now they are also pedaling in the WorldTour. We'll have to wait and see whether the strong year 2017 can be topped again. A difficult undertaking is imminent, because the past season was quite successful. The little sprinter alone was responsible for eleven of the 32 victories Caleb ewan responsible. Among other things, the Australian won four stages at the local Tour Down Under and the 7th stage of the Giro d'Italia.
A good transfer window
In addition to the up-and-coming sprint star Caleb Ewan, the Yates brothers were once again able to draw attention to themselves. Adam finished ninth in the Giro d'Italia and Simon seventh in the Tour de France. Although the real star of the team - Esteban Chaves - was injured or ailing for almost the entire year, 2017 can be described as an absolutely successful one. Mitchelton-Scott may even better those results next year as the Australians have had a particularly good transfer window. Magnus Cort Nielsen has been replaced by Matteo Trentin. With Simon Gerrans, who is already getting on in years, the team loses a role model, but not a real winner. For this they have brought in Mikel Nieve, a climber who will support Chaves and the Yates brothers in the mountains. If Chaves stays healthy and the many young riders take the expected next step, Team Mitchelton-Scott will be among the best teams in the peloton in 2018.
