Market/Cycling: Following the recently announced new partnership between German WorldTour Team Bora-hansgrohe and Wahoo Fitness. With the Katusha Alpecin team, a second team in the first league with a strong German participation is now becoming a partner of the market leader for workout applications and holistically networked fitness equipment.
WorldTour Team Katusha Alpecin, led in 2018 by new signing and top sprinter Marcel Kittel, multiple green jersey winner of the Tour de France, will start the coming season with Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT GPS computers and the matching heart rate straps. Wahoo Fitness announces the partnership with another UCI WorldTour team with a strong German participation. The entire team, including four-time time trial world champion Tony Martin, Tour de France green jersey winner Marcel Kittel, Vuelta podium finisher Ilnur Zakarin and up-and-coming stars like Rick Zabel, are now using Wahoo's TICKR heart rate monitors in training and racing with a Bluetooth interface and the ELEMNT BOLT, the first aerodynamically optimized bike computer.
With the ELEMNT BOLT and the TICKR heart rate monitors, you will provide precise data for training control and performance improvement, thus making a decisive contribution to future success. Katusha-Alpecin will thus become part of the Wahooligan family, which has two other WorldTour teams at its table: BORA-Hansgrohe and Team Sky. Everyone pulls together to increase performance and to work closely with the development team in order to continue to develop milestones in terms of performance products even at the highest sporting level.
“We are thrilled and honored to welcome Wahoo to our family. Wahoo is a young and dynamic brand with probably the best and most intuitive bike computers on the market. The ELEMNT BOLT is super easy to configure and perfect to use. Its cool design, the aerodynamic shape and the long battery life have fully convinced us. The riders and coaches have already used the computers and heart rate monitors extensively during the first training camp in Mallorca in December - and were absolutely delighted.” – José Azevedo, Team Manager Katusha Alpecin
“From Team Sky to Bora-hansgrohe to Kathusha-Alpecin - we are very proud that a number of the fastest racers on our planet trust our Wahoo products both in training and in the race. Our ideas and their implementation in components that deserve the Wahoo name have become reality - both in terms of the intuitive and self-explanatory setup and operation of our ELEMNT BOLT computers, their individual adaptability and their wind tunnel-tested aero advantages. We are fortunate that some of the best teams are now Wahooligans and look forward to the 2018 WorldTour season.” - Chip Hawkins, CEO and Mastermind
