Market: The 2018 cycling season is already on the rise and the first innovations are not long in coming. We are already eagerly awaiting the new tests for 2018, but we still want to look back with you at our highlights from the past year. In our Editors' Choice series, our testers and editors will each present the three products that particularly stuck in their minds. Today, part 3, we have the last of our series on offer for you.

Even if it's a bit unusual, one of my highlights this year is the Root Miller 2 29″ by Rose. Because this is a very solid bike with great features for a very good price. Due to the wide range of possible uses, it is perfect for the after-work ride, a longer tour or for the flow trail in the bike park. I also found the Fischer Proline EM 1723 to be a really interesting e-bike, as it shows once again that a low price does not mean cheap. The bike comes with a good drive and solid equipment, which is why it really surprised me in the test. The Shimano SH-RC7 was my first road bike shoe, which is of course why I remember it particularly well. I was able to get used to the shoe and the click system quickly and have only noticed advantages by switching to road bike equipment. The comfort and performance convinced me, so from now on the mountain bike shoes will stay in the closet for road bike rides.

When you hold and test so many bikes, components and products over the course of a year, you quickly lose track. But one of the things that sticks in my mind is the Canyon Exceed. I'm a fan of good hardtails and the bike from Koblenz definitely made my heart beat faster here. The same applies to the end product of our XC hardtail construction story: The Giant XtC Advanced 29 in absolute dream equipment. Highlights for me: Mavic carbon wheels and Hope brakes. Last but not least there is the BikeYoke Revive seat post. I think it's great that a resourceful inventor from Germany has managed to stick his nose out at some giant corporations and to develop what I think is the best dropper post on his own. I now use them on all my bikes.
