Track cycling: Moreno De Pauw and Kenny De Ketele have taken command at the SIX DAY BERLIN. The Belgians were after that first day still in fifth place, but were able to push past all the duos in front of them. The Germans, on the other hand, have fallen behind – but the local heroes are dominating the sprint.
SIX DAY BERLIN welcomes 9.100 spectators
Day two of the SIX DAY BERLIN is behind us. On Friday evening, 9.100 fans gathered at the Berlin Velodrom on Landsberger Allee. The spectators got to see thrilling track cycling again. If they kept their fingers crossed for the two German duos, they should still have gone home a bit disappointed. Then Leif Lampater and Christian Grasman, and Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt dropped in the overall standings. They are now in fifth and sixth place respectively. Everything went in exactly the opposite direction for the favorites Moreno De Pauw and Kenny De Ketele. The Belgians jumped from five to one. Last year's winners Wim Stroetinga and Yoeri Havik however, remain within striking distance. The Dutch are only eight points behind. A total of seven teams are still in the zero round.

Hot duel in the sprint: Bötticher vs. Levy
In addition to the world's best duos, the sprinters can of course also be seen at the SIX DAY BERLIN. Eyes wide open in this discipline at the moment Stefan Bötticher, who is making his comeback here in the Berlin Velodrom after a long injury break. After the second day he is second in the overall standings with 89 points. Was able to overtake him in the keirin Maximilian Levy. However, the two are only a single point apart. The third place Pavel Kelemen is already 20 points behind the top. The German dominance in the sprint becomes clear when you look at the winners of the day. Bötticher won the 250m time trial, Levy the sprint and War the keirin Maximilian Dornbach the fastest. In the women's category, after day #2, the French Laurie Berthon the leadership Lisa Klein and the Italian Maria Giulia Confalonieri secured. The Canadian proved herself in the omnium of SIX DAY BERLIN Allison Beveridge as the strongest, although she is still jet lagged after arriving from Canada.
Maximilian Levy:
“Stefan is incredibly strong and surprised us all with his top form. But I'm hot on his heels. Tomorrow we'll all up the ante again."
It's 🇩🇪 domination in the sprints tonight.
