Track cycling: Stefan Bötticher once again set a new track record on the third evening of SIX DAY BERLIN. He also regained the lead in the sprint from Maximilian Levy. Still ahead are Moreno De Pauw and Kenny De Ketele.
Bötticher crowns his comeback
The comeback of Stefan Boetticher really has it all. On Saturday evening he set the third track record in the Berlin Velodrom with a time of 12,056 seconds and regained the lead in the overall sprinter ranking. Thanks to his time trial sprint double, he is now four points ahead again Maximilian Levy. Robert Foerstemann took third place.
Stefan Boetticher:
“It's incredible to be back on the track and competing in Berlin. Especially in the sprint, which I absolutely love and have missed so much over the years. The adrenaline and the thrill when you can pull off such a performance here in front of such an audience in Berlin is just amazing. That's only possible with an audience that pushes you forward. I'm super happy, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to be at the start here. And I hope that the fourth track record will be broken in the next few days.”
Theo Reinhardt and @clever_roger rock #SixDayBerlin with a thrilling last Madison win! 😲 🇩🇪
But it's @depauwmoreno and @deketelekenny who hold their lead at the halfway stage… 🇧🇪

De Ketele & De Pauw stay ahead
Unlike in the sprint, not much has changed in the overall standings for the duos. The Belgians Moreno De Pauw and Kenny De Ketele are still at the top. The Dutch are seven points behind Wim Stroetinga and Yoeri Havik, the in last year were victorious. The Swiss Nico Selenati and Tristan Marguet are 49 points behind and the Danes Marc Hester and Jesper Morkov even 63. All these teams are in the clear round. The German duos Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt, and Leif Lampater and Christian Grasmann will soon reach the zero round thanks to the bonus round, but in terms of points the deficit has become relatively large anyway.
Kenny De Ketele:
“We took it easy on the first day, yesterday we got the right rhythm and now we keep going. It's going to be tough, but we want to win."
