General: White Style 2018: The field is set! Lukas Schäfer the only German participant

19 January 2018 by Andrew Waldera

MTB-News / Lifestyle: In exactly one week, 20 slopestylers and dirt jumpers from seven nations will be fighting for victory at the White Style. The season opener of the FMB World Tour will take place again in Saalfelden Leogang. For 2018, those responsible have come up with a new concept: The athletes have to assert themselves in the KO system. Can Torquato Testa repeat last year's win?

In seven days it will be hot at the Schante lift in Leogang. At the start of the FMB World Tour 2018, twenty riders from seven nations will reach into their bag of tricks to convince the judges at the White Style. The KO system is new this year – that means that the loser of a battle is eliminated from the contest. Slopestylers and dirt jumpers therefore have to call up their skills more often than usual. A hard piece of work, even for the professionals. The first four riders fall victim to qualifying, the remaining 16 riders make it to the final. The finalists will battle each other in four rounds, in the end only one athlete will remain. Host country Austria is represented by three riders, from Germany there is only one rider, Lukas Schäfer from Limburg.
