Henao & Bernal: Sky clears up in Colombia

While the national champions in Europe will not be crowned until June, the coveted jerseys were already at stake in Colombia this weekend. In the time trial, there was an exciting duel between the two just 21-year-olds Daniel Felipe Martinez (Team EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale) and Egan Arley Bernal (Sky). The latter young professional was able to draw attention to himself at the Tour Down Under. His talent was now confirmed by winning the title by a margin of six seconds. teammate Sergio Luis Henao finished sixth, but was able to celebrate the following day. Like last year, he secured the title in the road race. So he can keep his beloved jersey. After his sovereign performance he came 45 seconds ahead Oscar Adalberto Quiroz (Bicicletas Strongman Colombia Coldeportes) and 52 seconds ahead diego ochoa (EPM) to the finish. Rigoberto Urán (Team EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale) was seventh.

Sergio Luis Henao:
“I had the power to attack and then I just gave it my all until the finish line. Sebastian gave everything for me and Egan Bernal's hard work was also important. I call him Wonderboy.”
