MTB sport: the weather gods meant it perfect conditions in Lienz and Leogang In the third round of the Reverse Components Snow Milling Cup, things didn't quite go so well with the organizer of the Petzen Bike Trophy. After a few days before the event not a single snowflake covered the mountain and thus made the organizer sweat, it then snowed through for almost two days and suddenly there was a new problem. The snow was far too soft to build a course and the event was close to being canceled on race day.
In a video that is very short this time, you can get an impression of the conditions for yourself:
However, after a few snow enthusiasts were already on a long journey, in addition to Marcel Ziegler's 750km journey, my 400km were more or less a walk, the cancellation option fell out and it was decided to make the best of the situation. A few test runs and the ski slope in the firing line was found to be suitable. The mode was changed from dual slalom to single timing and the event started.

Among the girls, Yana Dobnig had the best grip on the underground and secured victory ahead of Lisa Prochiner and Nina Hofer. After Nina took the small podium place for the third time, she currently leads the overall ranking of the girls.

Among the boys, Marcel Ziegler was the most motivated after his 8-hour road trip and secured his first victory in the snow cutter season, ahead of Christian Stolz and Mario Schneeweiss. After I once approached the gate on the wrong side in my final runs and once had to take a snow test. In the end it meant only 8th place for me and loss of the overall lead to Marcel Ziegler.

Already on February 25.02th there will be a chance for revenge in Innsbruck with hopefully better conditions.
