Product news: The new one from Quintana and Co. - The Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team shoe

February 3rd 2018 by Florian Nowak

Product news: As part of a new partnership between Fizik and the WorldTour Team Movistar, the first highlight has now emerged, namely the Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team shoe. The road shoe is completely designed for performance and was developed together with the riders of the team. From now on, the Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team will be available online.

With the new partnership between Fizik and the Movistar team, they wanted to incorporate all the factors of this cooperation into the development of the Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team. The result is a high-end road bike shoe that combines Italian design and the know-how of one of the leading WorldTour teams. One is particularly proud of the successful combination of technologies, materials and improved design.

Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team - adjustability and fit

The Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team is named after the Infinito Closure System, which features two Boa IP1-B dials with steel-coated nylon cords laced in an infinite (lying eight) configuration to enclose the upper forefoot. In combination with the Dynamic Arch support and the increased volume control, a new dimension of adaptive adjustment results. Fit meets support with the Infinito Mesh footbed providing increased comfort while careful positioning of the textile guides eliminates any pressure. The full unidirectional carbon outsole is ventilated for temperature control to keep you comfortable in the harshest and warmest conditions. The UD carbon sole was developed for high rigidity and low weight and offers the driver the best possible power transmission. The upper is made from 1,3mm Laser Perforated Microtex for the ideal blend of breathability, strength, flexibility and support.

The Fizik Infinito R1 Movistar Team comes in the unmistakable Movistar Team colourway: a symbol of passion, style and racer pedigree and sports the distinct fi'zi:k logo, embossed vertically on the heel and rounded externally on the upper toe . In the current 2018 season, the shoes will not only be seen on drivers like Nairo Quintana, Mikel Landa and Alejandro Valverde, but also on the drivers of the newly formed Movistar Women Team.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
