General: Mobile Nicolai test fleet - The #nicolaitrailexperience for more individuality and better customer care

March 15, 2018 by Florian Nowak

Bicycle market: With a fleet of mobile test bikes, the manufacturer Nicolai will in future offer advice and test rides directly at the customer's site. With the #nicolaitrailexperience, the Lübbrechts-based sales system is being taken to a new path in order to offer even better and more personal advice. In addition, a new production site is opened in Germany.

With the introduction of the #nicolaitrailexperience , the Lower Saxony-based manufacturer is now also increasing its customer proximity in sales. Using a mobile fleet of test bikes, they will offer consultations and test rides directly at the customer's location. A major advantage is that customers can try out their future bike on their own local trails under professional guidance.

The #nicolaitrailexperience is the next step in the company's evolution. For more than 20 years, Nicolai bikes have stood for the best quality and a high degree of individuality when it comes to the realization of specific customer requests. Last but not least, the production in Germany is responsible for this, which will enable a new technological leap with the opening of a new production site. With the introduction of the #nicolaitrailexperience, the manufacturer from Lower Saxony is now also increasing its proximity to the customer in sales and is thus also responding to individual customer requests.

In peaceful co-existence with our Nicolai base dealers, who primarily take care of individual complete bodies, we have also previously offered bikes in direct sales. Thanks to the #nicolaitrailexperience sales system, we can now offer a service that is just as unique on the market as our bikes - Kalle Nicolai

#nicolaitrailexperience – how does it work ?

Interested parties will be visited by a Nicolai sales consultant exactly where they would like to test their dream bike. This can be on your own doorstep, but also in the bike park or on your favorite trail. Vincent Stoyhe's team of three consultants, who has been working for NICOLAI since 2005, will start in spring 2018. At least eight bikes will then be available to potential customers for their individual #nicolaitrailexperience to test different models, sizes and equipment variants and to be able to compare.

In order to create the best possible local coverage in Germany, we hired new employees for the #nicolaitrailexperience. Antoine Litt is based in Pfronten in the Allgäu and is responsible for southern Bavaria and eastern Baden-Württemberg. Jochen Weller has his home base in Karlsruhe and looks after the Black Forest, northern Bavaria and southern Hesse. Often he can also be found in Freiburg on the Rosskopf. My home is Hanover. From there I look after interested parties from Siegen to the Baltic Sea. -Vincent Stoyhe.

Even after a test drive and purchase as part of the #nicolaitrailexperience, Nicolai will continue to focus on a unique local offer. Mobile mechanics will offer workshop service directly at the customer's site throughout Germany. Service vehicles, equipped with specific spare parts and all the special tools required, provide the customer with a tailor-made service without any hassle or long waiting times.

Although we are breaking new ground in the MTB market with this sales channel, we can still draw on the extensive experience and support of my friends Michael Hecken (HNF), Benjamin Börries (HNF) and Reinhold Braun (Sortimo). With this background and our new building, we are able to deliver very well right from the start, Kalle Nicolai continues.
