cycling: Pivot Cycles Devo Team: New downhill youth team

March 29, 2018 by Michael Faiss

Spectrum / MTB sport: The US manufacturer Pivot Cycles is continuously increasing its commitment in Europe and Germany - for this season, a new racing team has been created with the Pivot Cycles Devo Team, whose focus is fully on promoting young people. With Katrin Karkhof, an experienced ex-racing driver could be won as team manager for the project.

The newly founded Pivot Cycles Devo Team is starting the 2018 season with Benni Beck, Abby Hogie and Janis Lehman. in Maribor, Slovenia. American-born Abby Hogie and 13.4-year-old Swiss Janis Lehman will also contest a number of World Cup races. The only 20-year-old Benni Beck is still competing in the U15 class and will initially have to limit himself to the European continent.

I would like to give something back to downhill racing. Since it's often difficult for young riders to even participate in races and there's a great need for support, it made sense that I could use my experience and contacts to build a junior team together with Pivot Cycles. We're incredibly proud to have put together such a well-rounded team. And we're really excited to see how the season goes.” [/testimonial]

The material will not be spilled: The team bikes Pivot Phoenix Carbon and Mach 6 Aluminum will all be equipped with suspension from Fox and wheels from DT Swiss. Maxxis tires should also ensure the best possible grip in all conditions. Team kit and protectors are provided by IXS, the glasses come from Smith Optics.

As the youngest team member, I'll certainly benefit from the experience of the other riders.” [/testimonial] [testimonial image=“https://www.velomotion.de/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/abbyhogie.jpg“ name=“Abby Hogie“ title=“Team rider Pivot Cycles Devo Team“ font_size=“14″ background=“#“ color=“#“ border=“#“ img_border=“#“ name_color=“#“ title_color=“#“]“I'm extremely happy to be on the Pivot Cycles Devo Team; it brings me a big step closer to my goals and dreams. I've never had support at this level before, and I'm sure it will help me progress. I'm extremely motivated for next season to come back stronger from my serious injury in September.” [/testimonial] [testimonial image=“https://www.velomotion.de/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/janislehman.jpg“ name=“Janis Lehman“ title=“Team rider Pivot Cycles Devo Team“ font_size=“14″ background=“#“ color=“#“ border=“#“ img_border=“#“ name_color=“#“ title_color=“#“]New team – new experiences – new bike – new speed. I'm really excited to be competing this season with Abby and Benni for the Pivot Cycles Devo Team. I hope, as the oldest rider, I can pass on my experience and speed to them. I feel honored to be racing with the Pivot Phoenix; it will certainly push me to my limits. With the team and the bike, I'm hoping for a great time, lots of fun moments, and, of course, better results."[/testimonial]
