Market: Magura is celebrating a really big birthday this year! 125 years ago, Gustav Magenwirth founded a company in Urach that would later have a decisive influence on the development of mountain bikes under the brand name Magura. For the company anniversary, the Swabian company is launching a limited Magura MT1893 version.

With the Magura MT1893, fans of the brand can take part in this historic date in a special way. The special model, available from June 07th, 2018, comes with polished four-piston brake calipers in an elegant chrome look. In keeping with the occasion, the limited version features a special engraving with the 1893 founding year logo and serial number. As with all Magura products, functionality is the top priority for the MT1893, despite its pleasing appearance. The braking power can be individually adjusted using the HC3 brake lever developed in collaboration with Danny MacAskill. The special souvenir will be available for EUR 499,90.

However, the limited Magura MT1893 is not the only innovation from the Swabian inventors. Proven products from the manufacturer have been further developed under the motto "Increase in performance through optimization of details". The XC flagship MT8 SL gets a new HC carbon lever. In contrast to the previous two-finger lever, the new, shorter lever is designed for one finger. The new brake lever is not only 10 millimeters shorter, but also has a wider contact surface for the finger at 16 millimeters. The grip width can be adjusted individually. In addition to improved performance and ergonomics, Magura was also able to work on the weight. With two levers, a total of 26 grams are saved. The MT8 SL with a new carbon brake lever will be available in the second half of 2018 for EUR 279,90.

Also coming out in the second half of the year are the new MT8 SL FM and MT4 FM models with Flatmount disc brake standard. Although the calipers are smaller and more compact, Magura was able to implement the brake pad size of the postmount models. The MT8 SL FM is designed for XC/Marathon race bikes, the MT4 FM is used on flat bar racers. The maximum brake disc diameter on both models is 180 millimeters. The MT8 SL FM will be available at a price of EUR 279,90, while the cheaper MT4 FM will cost EUR 129,90. Another novelty concerns the tuning of current brakes from Magura. The MT6, MT7, MT8 and MT Trail Carbon can be retrofitted with a new 1-finger HC carbon lever from the second half of the year.
