Product news: Product news: The new Fuji Supreme – The fast aero racer for you

12 April 2018 by Florian Nowak

Product news: Fuji Bikes has been a pioneer in women's cycling and bikes for women for more than 40 years. With the new Fuji Supreme, they are now introducing the fastest, most aerodynamic and most advanced Fuji bike for all ladies.

When developing the new Fuji Supreme, the engineers started from scratch and dealt with the demands placed on modern carbon racing machines. The main focus was on aerodynamics and weight. However, these two factors should not be mutually exclusive, but combined in one bike.

“I wanted to blend the two characteristics together. We were able to make a lightweight bike that is aerodynamic; an aero bike you can climb.” – Steven Fairchild, Fuji Global Product Manager

The Supreme's two-year redesign marks the first of a new generation of Fuji carbon road bikes, with a design DNA that is the company's hallmark in every bike built. With advanced computer design, which was further refined in the wind tunnel, Fuji has developed the Supreme, a bike for sporty women that has everything to offer: from impressive aerodynamics to better rigidity to transfer full power with every step to to an appealing weight to tackle even the toughest inclines. In addition, all models were equipped with disc brakes to ensure better overall performance. The individual fit across all sizes ensures a unique driving experience and the corresponding comfort.

“The technologies we develop for our premium road bikes influence our entire product line. We wanted to bring our newest thinking to the Supreme and allow this women's product to influence and enhance all of our products.” - Karen Bliss, CMO of Advanced Sports

After months of development and countless hours of refinement, the Fuji Supreme was sent through the final testing phase in the wind tunnel. Here, the Supreme delivered clear results that were already indicated during the development process. In a 40km test, the new Supreme saves a remarkable 1 minute and 19 seconds over the Transonic and an incredible 3 minutes and 23 seconds over the current Supreme.

With results like this, it's no wonder the Fuji Supreme is already a proven champion, crossing the finish line first to win the Valley of the Sun Criterium (February 18, 2018) under three-time National Champion Kendall Ryan of Team Tibco-Silicon Valley win bench. This win adds to the story that began in 1974 when Fuji sponsored the first US women's national team.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
