Product news: Ghost presents its new FR AMR. The bike will continue to move in the border area between enduro and freeride, but for the current season it will bring some exciting innovations to the frame - and of course fresh equipment variants.
The Ghost FR AMR is not a completely new bike - the freerider has been an integral part of the portfolio of the manufacturer from the Upper Palatinate for several years. Now the boys and girls from Ghost present a comprehensive update for the current season. Of course, nothing has changed in the basic orientation of the bike: With 165mm of rear travel, 170 in front, coil dampers in all models and a correspondingly downhill-oriented geometry, the bike is still somewhere in the range between enduro and freerider. When it comes to the wheel size, everything stays the same: 27,5″ in all variants.
So what's new to report? The area around the damper in particular has been redesigned: the yokes on the seat and chain stays have been completely redesigned, as has the rocker directly on the damper. Together with a larger tube cross-section, an overall much stiffer construction could be achieved. In addition to a more direct driving experience, the lateral forces on the bearings and dampers are also reduced, which benefits the longevity of all components.
The equipment is also new. There will be three variants this year, all with an aluminum frame. They all have in common the already mentioned coil damper, which fits well with a bike in this class and fully exploits its downhill potential. The Ghost FR AMR 4.7 is the attractively priced entry-level model for €2.299. In return, you get extremely good equipment: a Suntour Durolux fork joins the Fox Van RC Coil damper in the rear triangle. A Shimano SLX 11-speed drive ensures quick gear changes, a Magura Thirty2 brake for quick deceleration. The €4.199 top model is equipped with a Cane Creek chassis consisting of a Helm fork and DB Coil CS damper. Thanks to the Sram X01 circuit, even steep mountains can be easily mastered.
