Market: XLC is the accessories brand of Winora Group. These include brands such as Haibike, Winora, Sinus or Staiger and of course the Wiener Bikeparts wholesaler. With the huge range of products, it makes sense to cover unoccupied product areas or price ranges with a private label. Virtually all XLC products that we know offer solid performance at a reasonable price. Reason enough to present a few highlights for the MTB sector in 2018.
XLC BA-S 82 e-bike backpack
Many e-bikers know it: If you want to go on long tours, one battery is usually not enough. A spare battery is not very easy to transport in a standard backpack, as it is difficult to fix and the heavy weight is always noticeable. The XLC backpack made of water-repellent ripstop nylon has a neoprene compartment for the battery, in which it is optimally balanced when you go on tour. It should fit perfectly and offer a lot of space with 23 liters. A protective plate certified according to EN 1621-2:2016 protects the back. Of course, the backpack has all the features you would expect from such a piece: ergonomic, ventilated back section, preformed straps, various compression straps and subdivisions/compartments. There is also a signal whistle, a helmet net and a padded compartment for glasses or a mobile phone. The whole thing for 149,00 euros.
XLC telescopic supports SP-T10 and SP-T11
Both telescopic supports are operated via a hard-anodized handlebar. The price of 199€ for the SP-T10 and 219€ for the SP-T11 is absolutely fine. A clamping head in one-piece design and high-quality aluminum in CNC quality are always used. The main difference lies in the control: the SP-T10 is controlled externally, the SP-T11 in the frame. Both are equipped with a replaceable air-oil cartridge.
We tested another, cheaper XLC model. Everything we had to complain about has been eliminated with the SP-T10 and SP-T11, the robustness and good function remain intact:

Both versions have an adjustment range of 80, 100 or 125mm, depending on the length. The lengths are: With the Sp-T10 305, 350 and 400 mm with a shaft length of 168, 193 and 218 mm. With the SP-T11 328, 370 and 420 mm with a shaft length of 185, 207 and 240 mm. The low installation height between 137 and 182mm depending on the model is also nice. So there should be something for almost every frame, especially since the most important diameters are 30,9mm and 31,6mm.
XLC pedals PD-M23
A platform pedal for €39,95! The XLC team reaches into their bag of tricks. The price is made possible by a pedal body made of plastic. Nevertheless, it should be durable and stable, thanks to the one-piece construction made of polycarbonate. Each pedal has 10 pins per side, 8 of which are replaceable metal pins. A combination of a cartridge bearing and a plain bearing runs on a standard CroMo axle.
We ordered the pedals to test. You can read it soon on Velomotion. The first impression of the XLC PD-M23 pedals is very good. The pedals come in 4 color options: white with black pins, or black with black, red, or blue pins.
XLC wheelset WS-M04 for plus tires
Plus wheels are very popular, and not just among e-mountain bikers. The wide tires work really well on appropriate rims. This works with an aluminum rim with an inner width of 30mm, such as the XLCWS-M04. The rim is asymmetrical for even spoke tension. Branded spokes from Sapim are used as spokes. The core, the hubs, have a body made of forged aluminum with a 6-hole disc mount. The pawl holder is made of titanium, the freewheel is made of Ergal and is available for both conventional and XD cassettes. The hubs are also adjustable when installed and there are adapters for quick release and thru axles. To ensure that the bearings run for a long time, SKS industrial bearings are trusted with long-term grease lubrication. The WS-M499 goes over the counter for €04.
