cycling: [Photo story] Visiting the new Pivot Service office in Stuttgart

3 May 2018 by Michael Faiss

Home visit: US manufacturer Pivot is stepping on the gas in Europe and Germany. From now on, marketing, sales and after-sales service in Europe will be coordinated from the newly founded Pivot Service office in Stuttgart. We stopped by the new Pivot Cycles EU headquarters.

Five new employees have joined Pivot in Stuttgart since the beginning of the year. Service, marketing and sales throughout Europe are coordinated from here.
Right at the top of the agenda: test events! These are organized here.
If you would like to test a Pivot in your area, you can find it in the Overview determine a suitable date.

The huge test fleet, which currently includes more than 70 bikes, is also located in Stuttgart. These are divided into several test fleets in order to be able to be present at different events at the same time.

Thanks to the service office in Stuttgart, Pivot owners in Europe can now also be offered genuine on-site service. Spare parts are sent from here to keep waiting times short and of course you also have a direct contact person - whether by email, telephone, Facebook or via the website chat.

Visiting the pivot test event in Regensburg

Pivot is also on site with the large test fleet at some dealers from time to time throughout the year and invites them to their own testival. In April we visited the test event of K&L Bikes in Regensburg, where Pivot's entire MTB range could be tested, from the short-stroke Mach 4 to the Firebird or the E-MTB Shuttle.

Paddle instead of spill! Thanks to the huge test fleet, almost any bike in almost any size can be offered for test rides.

Whether test driving, admiring ...
... or just talk shop and enjoy the sun: The test events are always worth a visit for MTB fans.
All information at a glance: model, equipment, weight, size of the test bikes.
The physical well-being is also taken care of.
So that the energy tank is filled up for a test drive.

All our bikes arrive at the dealer in perfect condition. All bearings are adjusted, all connections are properly greased, and the brakes and gears are adjusted.[/testimonial]
Here you will be helped! Europe boss Volker Knaus is on hand with help and advice.
... and is also happy to explain the technical refinements and advantages of the bikes.

In conversation: Lukas Kuffer, owner of K&L Bikes in Regensburg

How long have you had Pivot in your shop and why?

"We've had real contact since Eurobike 2016. I've been a fan of the brand for a long time and even thought about doing sales here in Europe myself. Since Pivot has been organizing sales here in Europe itself, the prices have become more attractive and the new models speak for themselves - simply great bikes!"

How do people perceive Pivot?

“You can tell how much Pivot is currently stepping on the gas in marketing. They are represented at every event and show their presence. I don't know of any brand that does that much at the moment. Of course, all of this takes time, a year ago it really got going. But the level of awareness has increased many times over since then. Two years ago it was purely an insider brand, today at least most people have heard of the bikes.”

Do you sell more complete bikes or custom builds?

"We do both. Personally, I'm a fan of custom bodies, especially in the upper price sector, because you can respond to people's needs more individually. For me as a dealer, a complete bike is of course more comfortable, especially since the quality at Pivot is simply right.”

Assembly and delivery of all pivot bikes for Europe in Bielefeld

All complete wheels for Europe are now assembled and delivered in Bielefeld.
The build quality is consistent with a premium brand.
... and saves the dealers a lot of work afterwards.
The customer benefits from good availability and short delivery times.

Long-time Pivot employee Emily Landeryou moved to Germany from the USA and is responsible for quality assurance on site.
Of course: The appropriate decals for fork, damper and wheels are also carefully applied here.
Pivot now supplies complete bikes to dealers from three locations worldwide: USA, Taiwan and Germany.

Back to the office in Stuttgart. In addition to storage for the test fleet, the workshop here also takes care of the appropriate care and maintenance of the much-beaten test bikes.

The usual wear and tear on the gearshift and brakes is on the maintenance plan.
In addition, any warranty claims are processed in Stuttgart.

[testimonial name=“Volker Knaus“ title=“European Brand Manager Pivot“ font_size=“16″ background=“#“ color=“#“ border=“#“ img_border=“#“ name_color=“#“ title_color=“#“]It's crazy to see how quickly it all happened. What first got off the ground in 15 as a one-man show with a big car and 2016 test bikes is now a powerful and fantastic team that stands behind the brand here in Germany.[/testimonial]
Of course, with such a large test fleet, the corresponding amount of wear material is also required.
Several boxes full of Padloc grips are ready.
If the damper or fork no longer works properly, you can of course also carry out a chassis service on site.

[testimonial name=“Chris Cocalis“ title=“CEO and President of Pivot Cycles“ font_size=“16″ background=“#“ color=“#“ border=“#“ img_border=“#“ name_color=“#“ title_color=“#“]We know from our own experience in the USA how important it is for our customers to have direct personal contact with the manufacturer. With our service office in Stuttgart and bike assembly in Bielefeld, we offer our sales partners and customers the best quality, fast delivery times, and very high availability.[/testimonial]

Several pivot buses are ready to transport the respective test fleets across Europe to the corresponding events.
