Product news: Schwalbe presents new tire duo for modern cross country tracks

18 May 2018 by Andrew Waldera

Market: Cross country sport has developed enormously in recent years. The increasingly technical tracks require maximum performance from both the driver and the equipment. The tires are of great importance on the demanding tracks. With the new Racing Ray and the revised Racing Ralph, Schwalbe presents a tire duo for modern cross country tracks.

The new Schwalbe Racing Ray for the front wheel

Tires for modern cross-country use have to roll particularly easily, but at the same time be robust and reliable. Furthermore, the tires have to guarantee great grip and traction on different surfaces, regardless of the weather. For the manufacturers, the perfect implementation of the requirements in terms of cornering, acceleration, rolling resistance and braking performance is also important. Schwalbe is now presenting the new Racing Ray for the front wheel and the new version of the Racing Ralph for the rear wheel to meet exactly these high demands. It's all in the combination: The new XC tires can only fully exploit their advantages in a team.

RacingRay

The Racing Ray was developed as a thoroughbred front tire. According to Schwalbe, the strengths of the new tires include precise steering behavior, reliable cornering and confidence-inspiring grip right up to the limit. The tire manufacturer attributes another strength to the Racing Ray when it comes to braking. The firmly supported, hardly deformable shoulder blocks should ensure a direct driving style even in extreme cornering. Schwalbe promises that the new front tire will roll smoothly despite the aggressive profile. For the rear, Schwalbe recommends the revised Racing Ralph. The tire comes with massive blocks in the center and supported lugs on the shoulder and in the transition area.

RacingRalph

Both the Racing Ray and the Racing Ralph are equipped with Tubeless Easy technology and SnakeSkin. The two new Schwalbe tires will be available from July at a price of 57,90 euros each.
