General: e-bike manufaktur: Pedelecs from model year 2019 with built-in anti-theft device on request

June 12, 2018 by Andrew Waldera

Market: The premium brand e-bike manufaktur declares war on thieves! From the 2019 model year, customers can purchase the pedelecs with a built-in anti-theft device if they wish. The e-bikes equipped with the built-in GPS tracker can be located at any time using the in-house app.

Together with the telecommunications service provider Vodafone, the premium brand e-bike manufaktur, which belongs to Cycle Union, is launching the second stage of the cross-brand program "Connect". Behind the digitization campaign is the Internet of Things (IoT), which allows virtual and physical objects to be networked. This also makes it possible to link the e-bike to the owner via the mobile network. In the event of theft, the owner receives a message directly on their smartphone, and the bike can then be located using track & trace. Technically, the whole story works with a built-in GPS tracker and the in-house My Bike app. The anti-theft device is available from model year 2019, i.e. from the first model delivery in autumn 2018. Use of the "Connect" program is free of charge in the first year, after which a monthly flat rate of 2,50 euros is charged.
