Track cycling: The German Track Cycling Championships in Dudenhofen had the third day of competition on Friday. Many medals were awarded, titles defended and revenge fought.
Emma Hinze wins the women's keirin
Yesterday Emma Hinze still had to admit defeat to local hero Miriam Welte in the 500 meter time trial. Today, the only 20-year-old hit back impressively. In the women's keirin, Pauline Grabosch attacked early, so that Miriam Welte followed and Emma Hinze pulled her rear wheel with her. This then sprinted past the home straight to the German championship title.
Emma Hinze:
"My legs felt good. So I was hoping for a win, but I didn't expect it."

Leon Rohde:
“We gambled a bit and started the race defensively. I knew I would have a good race if I had a clear track.”
Title defense in the men's team sprint
The trio of Nik Schröter, Maximilian Dörnbach and Maximilian Levy from the Erdgas 2012 team won the men's team sprint in a time of 43,960 seconds. Stefan Bötticher, Valentin Schumann and Joachim Eilers secured the silver medal ahead of Timo Bichler, Carl Hinze, Nick Rother and Dominique Rene Anklam.
Maximilian Levy:
“Over time, we won bronze in Beijing in 2008. In the end I had a bit too much wind between the spokes, but I'm very proud that we were able to hold the title as a team."
German champions in the women's team pursuit
The women's quartet Charlotte Becker, Anna Knauer, Gudrun Stock and Vanessa Wolfram also had reason to celebrate on Friday evening. In the team pursuit, the foursome went under the name Maxx Solar Linding and left no doubt about the awarding of the gold medal over the 4.000 meter distance. After 4:41,543 minutes, the time stopped by more than two and a half seconds ahead of the foursome D.Velop Café Ladies with Lisa Küllmer, Tatjana Paller, Michaela Ebert and Laura üßmilch.
Gudrun Stick:
"We drove a strong finale, even if we ran out of breath a bit towards the end."
The new and old German champions on the track are called Welte, Brennauer and Dörnbach. Today we continue with the awarding of medals in Dudenhofen. https://t.co/LZszjS3dRC
